Not being funny but its the Agitator that makes a Hoover a Hoover- without it you may as well have a suction cleaner!!! Seamus CLICK HERE TO GO TO SeamusUK's LINK |

Haha, semantics! I suppose in that case I'm saying it works far better when converted to a suction cleaner! |

Hi Steve ! Please be careful..you might burn the motor !!! Listen : I had the same idea some years ago for my beloved and first navy blue HOOVER 6525c : when I took away the brushroll, the vacuum was much lighter and i also liked the airplane-noise of it.....also it was no longer shaking, without the beating bar hitting the floor.... Luckily enought, i asked about it to my local HOOVER repair shop ( an old man who knew this old machines very very well ) and he advised me not to do that, because the hoover engine does have a maximum number of cycles per minute and - if it goes further - it will easily overheat and damage or burn ....so the engine does need a "brake" with the rubber ring and brushroll. Hope this helps ! GUIDO
