Well here they are. Buffalo Joe was here this weekend on a Thunderbird run (more on that later). So we did a little thrifting this afternoon and came up with quite a bit. We found the blue U4195 Convertible for $4 at the Hartville Flea Market along with the brown Hoover Advantage upright which was in far better condition. Joe picked up the Simplicity along with the orange full hood Convertible at a local thrift store called Abbey Anns. He got quite a deal when he bought them both. The Menonite Thrift store yielded a 1960's vintage Eureka Princess that actually says "Princess" on it. At $5 it was a bargain! Joe also found a completely original Dustette circa 1959 for a whole whopping $1. The Hartville Flea Market also had a Hoover 150 "Special" that was rebuilt by the company in August 1945. Two items that did not come back with us that were both at the flea market were a mint Sanitaire Commercial Shop Vac and a 1974 overhead belt drive Lawn Boy. We had NO MORE ROOM! I picked up the orange U4095 Convertible that had a broken bag spring and an 1120 DAM at the same Abbey Anns thrift store that Joe found his machines. We picked up the fan along the way. Who could resist an actual American made item that is still very useful. Not pictured is a shark hand vac...yeah. It was a great day with good weather. It was nice to clean up with all of these great machines. Tomorrow we are off to collect Joe's Thunderbird so that he can return to Buffalo and cruise. Hey Joe...how about some photos of that new 'bird???

Factory rebuilt 150? More pics maybe?

That beige full-hood is one of the more unusual full-hoods i have seen. Nice.

I didnt know the Eureka Princess ever came in that color. Maybe a Princess-style but not one really labeled "Princess".

Tom!!!

Thats not Heather in the background mowing the lawn while you and Joe were out having a great time collecting treasures is it? I think she would have loved it if you brought the Lawn Boy home!!! You have such great luck in your treasure hunts!!!!Congrats on the cool finds! And it's okay that the shark hand vac didn't make the picture. Hehehehe!

Marty :)

And Joe must have taken the pictures, because in the first one it looks like you are out mowing with one of your Lawn-Boys! I'll probably be doing the same thing Monday morning!!
Happy mowing, and happy Hoovering!

Good grief you always find a lot of great stuff...how much space do you have left in the house?

I spotted the Lawn Boy in the back too....mines the new model but I see a few of the older ones still being used on our block by some of the elderly original residents

No, The Bird has landed.........

After a 5 hour trip home without any trouble, I'm home safe and sound with my new toys. I want to thank Tom, Heather and Glenn for hosting me this weekend while I worked out arrangements to get this T-Bird. It was great to plan a little thrifting too.

Also thanks goes to Jimmy, (Vibrabeat) for woking with me to purchase the T-Bird.

Now I have to get busy and get her restored.

Here are a series of picks of my North Canton Finds. First the "bird" still on the trailer in my driveway.

My Rear View....

This is what I saw behind me all the way home. Its not the best quality, but the hood ornament in my rear view was a sight to see.

Car looks great, not sure the year though, 77 ? I towed my car back cross country on one of those Uhaul trailers last year. When I first went to pick it up I just about panicked when I saw that sticker saying max 45mph. But then I couldn't see it anyways because I was driving one of their 26 ft cargo trucks. An experience I never want to repeat. Have to say though that the truck was beautiful, I got a brand new one.

speed

Hey Pete,

That 45mph kinda means nothing. Its only suggested and its probably a clause to get them out of trouble should you have an accident. I averaged 60-65mph. I'll tell you though that you knew the thing was back there when the road was rough.

The T-Bird is a 1978. Hard to believe its almost 30 years old. I can remember them in showrooms. Still hard to think of them as a classic, but they are.

Now that this thread is really off topic, Maybe I can bring it back to vintage vacuums.

David, that Eureka Princess is the original color unless someone took off all the trim and painted the inside too. I'll get some pics of that posted on this thread, hopefully tonight.

Joe

Eureka Princess

Here is a dark, closeup of the name plate on that Eureka Princess. It was dark out and I couldn't get a very good shot of it. I'll do more tomorrow.
