The 83 was the bottom of the line model for the 1957-63 years (If you look at the serial number the first digit will tell you what year eg a 1 would be 1961). The mid range was the 86 and the top of the line was the 88. They were a good machine and lasted well, which is why you still see so many of them around in Canada.
In 1963 bumpers were added to the machines and both the 83 and 86 were replaced by the 86 which was then available with or without a cord reel. | ||
