I picked this stick vac up the other day. It says Zenith on the front which led me to think it was the Zenith of tv/radio fame.. but it's not..it was sold by the Marshall Wells Hardware Co who operated both in Western Canada and the Western US up until the mid to late 60's. It uses a smaller than regular F&G type bag with the spring clip roller. I don't think I've ever seen any of them anywhere, would anyone know if they're still available for some other machine?

That's the same stick vac built by Shetland/Lewyt. I wouldn't know where to locate bags for it anymore though. It's too bad they didn't make it with a cloth shake-out bag. Perhaps someone out there knows another bag type that will fit.

What's the weird vent in your floor, Pete? lol

But yeah, nice looking StickVac, so much more thought put into them than we have nowerdays, maybe you will be able to jury rig another bag? perhaps the style the Hoover Junior uses..of course that would probably be a bit messy ;]

I knew it!!! I knew I'd seen this vac before as a Shetland Lewyt just couldn't think of that name. And yes on the sticker inside it says Sweeper Vac, Marshall Wells. It's sort of the top fill bag with the paper tube coming up the side from the bottom where it clips onto the nozzle.

I took a look at Doug Smiths website and sho nuff he has a Shetland exactly the same dated 1964. As for a bag to use I just took a Hoover C bag and cut about 8 inches off the open end and it works fine.
