This is a new series that Hoover is bringing out. They are ditching the Guardsman black line and moving to the red Professional series. John Gregory of Sweeper Central--a Hoover specialty store even says and has one on his floor of a Convertible style one coming back. It's also red with a red hood too!

thanks for the info:) I just remember seeing them and then not so my curiosity got the better of me. I do like the look of the red on black theme.

Could this be the return of the Convertibles?

I can't believe these Professionals look like Sanitaires.

Are they still USA made?

Hopefully by year's end, I hope to buy one soon.

Mr. Mom-- The yellow hooded dirt cup model at Sam's Club has been there for atleast 9 months.

The Red series is newer. I was surprised but they are not available on Hoover website though. I imagine they will be shortly. I am very glad that the headlight is back on the Decades.

It's red, but a different red from Sanitaire. I guess Hoover didn't want them to look like the older style Orange commercials or current black line.

I'm sure John Gregory- Guardsman will find this thread soon and add more detail!!

the hoover professional series uprights i created with now vice president of vita mix then vice president of hoover .....don snyder.....the professional series was launched in march of 2009 after a year in development ....i personally had hoover reinstall the metal bottom plates back on these convertible units .....using the same hardware i would personaly put on my machines because i would install the metal bottom plates on my own customers units....i despise the plastic bottom plates.....the headlight i reintroduced to the decade 800 style unit but is now achieved with a mini transformer and a led light strip.....the professional line s star unit was my ch50015 wind tunnel commercial upright...i got don snyder to reissue the u5416900 turbo power upper handle for top side tool storage instead of on back of the unit.....in spring of 2012 the line and the units were dropped when our new commercial director took over ....new units are on the way in our commercial line and they will be awesome....i still have all professional models available in my showroom

new commercial models

guardsman69, any hint as to when the new commercial models will be released?? :) are they similar to the professional series? And ya, are they making household convertibles? This would really put Hoover back up there.

We all know that

Convertible MADE HOOVER'S fortune. It lasted 40 years. Some models were cheapened, true. But.................. Yes, perhaps even a new, revised version could/should 'put HOOVER back where it belongs". I hear that it is to be made back HERE... as, I heard, all machines will be made here once again. I HOPE that's true. We'll see.
John.

windtunnel professional series above CH50010

has anyone tried the unit above the professional series windtunnel CH50010? Do you all think it peforms better than or equal to the decade 800 model?
