Hello, I was wanting to know if anyone on here would be interested in purchasing a Hoover Convertible Model 70. I currently have it listed on Ebay, but so far no bids. I was thinking if no one purchases it off Ebay, i'd try to sell it here. Its in good condition. Works great, quiet motor. Brush Roll and Belt are in good shape, Type C bag. Outer bag is in good condition, HOOVER letters are still visible, does have a small hole at the top crease of bag, but can't notice it unless your really looking for it. I purchased it recently on Ebay, but had changed my mind after i already had purchased. Theres nothing wrong with it.. its a great machine. I took off the hood, the motor is very clean, headlight works. I think it was serviced prior to me buying it. Id keep it but bought it in haste actually. So ive come to the realization that I do love the convertibles but would like to have more of a 1980s model that i grew up with LOL!! So with that being said ive purchased another "Newer 1980's Model U4409" convertible on Ebay as well. So i'd like to sell this Model 70 that I have. I paid $160.00 for it, but ill sale it for $125.00 that includes shipping. So if anyone is interested or if any of you collectors are looking for a gem like this one please feel free to send me an email at acast78@yahoo.com and we can go from there. Thanks for your interest. :)

no.....

thats a INSANE price!!!!!......a model 70 in used condition is only worth about 30 bucks tops. mint all original, unused or used very little that's different. but used that will not sell to a collector for that. and also just a note to the original poster, the belt being in good condition is not a factor, belts need to be changed every 2 to 3 months anyway, so that would most likely be change out, and probably has been in the past.

yes $30.00 is a good price for it. but since it is such a great vacuum people think that it should be more. its in between the stages of nice and new and super colectable

...and it was worth every penny! That cleaner is beautiful! Sucks that I missed it! I'm sure it has a great home now!

Congrats on your sale!

A local vacuum shop sells these reconditioned for $120. He had 4 at one point. Not sure how many he has now.

They ARE great.

They're worth different amounts to different people. If you HAVE to have one, and it's in great shape, go for it. If too high....wait for another.
I now have 9 model 70s. I know... But, I got them from very interesting places, in various ways. 3 were 'rescues'. We'll all be able to run on at the "Monster Mash Bash". A 'group' photo. Best of luck with yours. It's a real workhorse. John.

I'm more than willing to pay for a machine in good condition! Hopefully I'll come across another Model 70 soon! LOVE that shade of blue!

Oh yeah...

You got a great vacuum at a fair price for the condition, in my opinion! It's the final model of the two digit series of convertible. I have paid more than a thrift store price for many of my vacuums (150+), just because of the condition and originality. It's just the need or want that comes into play, and how often would you find one in that condition. Congrats!

I have paid more than thrift prices for many of my cleaners as well...and it has been worth every penny! I'd rather pay a bit more for a machine that is in better shape, than having to gut the cleaner and start from the ground up. In all honesty, you get what you pay for (in some instances). I think that it is worth paying more for something you love, and will use and enjoy! Hopefully I stumble upon a model 70 soon! I LOVE the early Convertibles! :)

The model 70 was the cleaner that

changed the large badge to the small one. The vertical HOOVER was also often-times not printed in the correct spot. I now have 7. Some were 'rescues'.
