Does anyone have any tips for aiding a sticky on/off switch on a 1970s Hoover Convertible? Its my favorite daily driver but the old girl keeps getting stuck on unless I flip the switch repeatedly.

I would swap the switch out if it is giving you problems.

Those switches are NLA -- they were discontinuted in 2004 or 2005.  I usually grab the switch out of any machine I'm parting out.  If you send me an email with your address, I can drop a switch in the mail to you.  I have them all over the house, I just opened the junk drawer in the kitchen last night and found one.  :-)
