Finally got my Shop Vac Steam Team!

Anyone have any experience with these? Is the soap still available? Thanks, KC

Very nice! I think you would have to poke around on ebay or and old hardware store to find the solution, but any steam cleaner soap will work. Bissll, Hoover, etc..

Good luck with it.

Kenny

I remember Sears selling a similar kit to use with their Craftsman wet/dry vacuums as well.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I remember briefly seeing this about 19 years ago at a Caldor. I was surprised but didn't get a closer look. I have never heard anything about them or seen them since, never found anything online about it. I'll be it sucks up good but how does it inject. I guess its a faucet hook up style!!!!

Wow that's cool, I didn't know Shop Vac had these. Does anyone remember when Filter Queen had something like this too?? I know a thrift store in IL. that is holding one I just need to get up there and get it.

Yes the Shop Vac Steam Team & Craftsman carpet/upholstery cleaning kit require faucet hook-up

I love using mine with the Workshop 9 gallon vac or Ridgid 6 gallon vac; carpets & sofa dry in 2 hrs

Kit includes:

  • Carpet nozzle (Shop Vac Steam Team has fixed brush; Craftsman doesn't even have ANY brush)
  • 50ft Water supply hose
  • Bottle of shampoo
  • Faucet adapters, screen washer & washers
  • Mixing valve (Steam Team has container built into faucet connector; Craftsman just has a tube that gos into shampoo bottle
  • 6ft long x 1¼" diameter vacuum hose (Steam Team doesn't have the vac hose included)
  • Two 20" long x 1¼" dia extension wands (basic & mid-line versions has plastic; deluxe has aluminum)
  • Plastic clips (holds the water hose onto vacuum hose)
  • Upholstery nozzle (mid-line & deluxe only)
  • Bare floor nozzle or squeegee adapter (attaches onto bottom of carpet nozzle) (Deluxe only)
  • Instructions
  • Solution control/curved wand grip (Craftsman only; Steam Team is just a squeeze lever that clips onto wand or upholstery nozzle)

Steam team connected onto Ridgid vac in upholstery mode & close-ups of both ends of kit

I replaced the short vacuum hose with a longer 10ft hose because 6 feet is too short & the old hose had ripped in several spots over time.  The plastic clips broke yrs ago; now I 'wrap' the water hose around the vacuum hose

I also upgraded the cheap plastic wands to the more durable Rainbow stainless steel wands

The Steam Team outperforms my old Dirt Devil Easy Steamer that I bought new in 2000 & Hoover SpinScrub around 1999; but the SpinScrub & Easy Steamer have powered brushes

I've seen a few shampooers that attach to the sink, one from Bissell, Rainbow, I think Fairfax used one too and now this shop vac one. I have to wonder if one company was producing these units? You'd think someone would have had a patent on the design at some point?.

I just saw this ad on eBay for a Bissell one that connects to a Shop Vac.

Recently I also saw on Google Images a Shop Vac Floormaster Steam Team. A Shop Vac that came bundled with the Steam Team attachments.
