This past Sunday I stopped in a flea market I often frequent because they sometimes have vintage vacuums I'm interested in and found they had two Hoover Dial-a-Matics. One was a Model 1110 with green front, and the other was one with Power Drive and an orange front. The flea market also had partial set of attachments for a Hoover Model 700--just the hose and black wands. An instruction booklet was included, and the items were in an original Hoover dusting tools box.

As I looked further, I found an Electrolux carpet shampooer that appeared to be from the '50's. Didn't notice what the model no. was.

Finally the store had an Airway Model 88, but it didn't seem to have any attachments.

Dial-A-Matic 1110

Ooooh, I would love to have an 1110 for my collection, as I have almost every other model in the Dial-A-Matic lineup. Is there a telephone number I can contact them at? Do you think they would ship it to me? Thanks

Telephone no. of Topeka flea market

The telephone no. of Boyle's Joyland Flea Market, 29th and Adams, Topeka, is 785-266-5401. Ask for Jerry Boyle. Tell him Jim Kirby (he calls me Vacman) referred you to him.

If there are problems with his shipping the cleaner, let me know. I'm in Topeka frequently and will be glad to purchase it and ship it to you. If I ship it, it will be packed well because I work for a moving company, which is an agent of United Van Lines in Emporia and Wichita, KS, and Houston, TX.
If you need to call me, I'm at 800-835-3509 mornings (I'm semi-retired); however, I have voice mail so that you can leave a message whenever during the day you call.

Happy Hoovering.

Jim Kirby

Thanks a million Jim! The 1110 has been a much-needed addition to my collection for quite awhile now. I will try and call them first thing tomorrow.

All the best,

Karl Weissert

Dial-A-Matic 1110

Jim, I can't thank you enough! I spoke with Mr. Boyle Friday morning. At first he had said they don't ship from the flea market, but being that the Post Office was right next door, he said he would try and find a box and then call me back with the postage price. A box arrived at my house today. It was that peacock blue Dial-A-Matic 1110 I've been trying to find for the longest time! It's in pretty good shape, and the suction seems even better than my 1100. I absolutely love it! I will try and post pics once I clean it up a bit, along with the rest of my Dial-A-Matic family.

Glad things worked out

Karl, I'm glad things worked out well with you and Jerry Boyle and that you've received the DAM.
