Does anyone remember what belts and brush rolls to use on Royal metal uprights through the years?
BELTS #1-043260-001 - used on many old Royal metal uprights. Those would be 5.4 amps or lower, and those whose brush rolls have square-end caps (July 1992 and earlier production). #1-044260-001 - used on Royal metal uprights rated 6.0 amps or higher, and only on those whose brush rolls have sleeve bearings. #1-672260-001 - used on Royal metal uprights whose brush rolls have ball bearings. BRUSH ROLLS #2-059721-000 - curved single row, used on many old Royal metal uprights. Recommended on units up to 4.5 amps. For 14" wide nozzle units. #2-060221-000 - beater bar, used on many old Royal metal uprights. Not recommended on units above 5.4 amps. For 14" wide nozzle units (square end caps on brush roll). #2-080221-000 - curved double row, less stiffener. Not recommended on units less than 4.5 amps, or those above 5.4 amps. For 14" wide nozzle units made July 1992 and earlier (square end caps). #2-088221-000 - curved double row, w/ stiffener. Used on 14" wide nozzle units with 6.0 or higher amp motors, manufactured July 1992 and earlier. #2-061821-000 - curved double row. Used on 18" wide nozzle models manufactured July 1992 and earlier. #2-655225-000 - curved double row, less stiffener. For 14" wide nozzle units with 5.0 or 5.4 amp motors, made after August 1992 (hex ends). #2-673273-000 - curved double row w/ stiffener. For 14" wide nozzle models made after August 1992 (hex ends). #2-675221-000 - like #2-080221-000 but with ball bearings. For all Royal 14" wide nozzle metal uprights made July 1992 and earlier with 4.5 to 5.4 amp motors (square end caps). #2-675227-000 - like #2-088221-000 but with ball bearings. For all Royal 14" wide nozzle metal uprights made July 1992 and earlier with 6.0 or 7.0 amp motors (square end caps). #2-692225-000 - for 18" wide nozzle models made after August 1992 (hex ends). #2-695227-000 - like #2-061821-000 but with ball bearings. For all Royal 18" wide nozzle metal uprights made July 1992 and earlier (square end caps). For example: 1. My 1988 Stark 5000NA Deluxe (Royal 889) upright vacuum has a 6.0 amp motor. A December 1987 build, its brush roll has square ends, and a replacement roll would thus be given as either #2-088221-000 (sleeve bearings) or #2-675227-000 (ball bearings). Thus, two different replacement belts would be assigned: #1-044260-001 (for #2-088221-000) or #1-672260-001 (for #2-675227-000). 2. My 1993 Royal 6103 Preferred Collection also has a 6.0 amp motor. Being built in February 1993, it would thus have the hex ends for its brush roll end caps. A replacement brush roll is thus given as part #2-673273-000, and a replacement belt is part #1-672260-001. If I were to change the brush roll in my 5000NA to the #2-675227-000 ball bearing brush roll (square ended, so will work on my machine), then I'd need to use the #1-672260-001 belt. Am I missing anything here, or is anything incorrect here as it is? ~Ben |
