Well, i've wanted one of these for a while and finally the hoover fairy came up with the goods. Now to our american friends this is a bog standard Eureka/Sanitaire. In England they seem to be much rarer and harder to find now.

This is my first Sanitaire and I don't know much about them to be honest. As far as I know they first came here as a Commercial only model in 1979. The C12 was the regular size and the C2112 was the wider track model.

As you can see from the pics, mines going to need quite a bit of work to make it look nice again. If anyone can help with parts, i'd be very greatful

I need the following

A good bag because the current one is faded
A decent hood
And an upper cable hook

I've given it a wipe over and it's not too bad apart from the missing paint. It came from Brighton near the beach and it was absolutely stuffed full of sand.

I completely filled a commercial tub vac sucking the sand out the bag because there was so much of it!

think it's dial-a-nap but dial-a-shag sounds more useful lol

Couldn't you paint the white part of the hood? I wonder if it comes off easily?

Yes thats definitely an option, i'd have to try and strip the old paint off because its a bit rusty and bubbled

Just dyed the bag on the Widetrack because it was terribly faded and a bit yellowed in places. This is the result, looks great an makes a massive difference. Next job is to respray the hood

I was looking for a new bag until I dyed the current one and it looks fine now, but thanks!

I recommend upgrading to disposable paper F & G bag or ST bag system; you'll never have huge dust clouds or need to clean out the outer cloth bag; & have better filtration

My "new" Merry Maids (Sanitaire) has the F & G paper bag system
