Hello all,
do any of you know if nilfisk gm 80 /90 main filters are washable. I'm going to wash mine like I was washing my Loro Piana Chachemers but adding disinfectants etc... My gm 90's filter is perfectly white but as it came from other's home I'd like to clean it up. any advice?
Kisses from italy ,
Tommy

what kind of cloth is it made from Tommy? I wash nearly all my filters, even delicate ones in the washing on a 30 degree wool wash. they're usually fine :)

Hi Ryan, the filter is in cotton, I think I'll just wash in the washing machine, with low heat and a delicate program, I'll just add some disinfectant, just to be sure....
Thanx
tommy

GS/GM90

Hi Tommy,

The instructions for my GS80 (same main filter material as the 90) from 1992 states that the main filter should not be washed, but does not state why; perhaps washing such specialised cotton filters makes them shrink and fail to let air through or stretch sufficiently whereby the high filtration capacity is lost?

Regards, Walter.

thanx... perhalps advicing not to wash it is a gimmick to make people buy a new main filter... don't you think?
