I bought a Hoover Convertible U4047 and want to replace the beater bar brushroll brushes. Has anybody had any experience using the "high performance" brush inserts as far as if they can damage medium pile carpet since they are 11 mil as opposed to the 8 mil "standard performance" brushes? Thanks.

i have a 1076 with a commercial brush strips in the brushroll/beatbar. it doesn't do the carpet any damage . it actually seems to get the carpet cleaner than the factory size brush strips.

That is what I was hoping. I like when the nap is fluffed up a bit, but did not want to damage the rug. Finally am getting a Convertible I have always wanted and want to replace a few things :)

I just won't use my Convertible near my hard floors or the edge between the carpet and hard floors.
