Amazingly, I was able to find two great vacuums today on Half-Off Saturday. I found a Eureka Express canister, which sadly has a broken on-off switch, and an early Hoover Legacy. The Legacy is in perfect condition from 1992 and sounds even better than my '95 Legacy. The Express came with the owner's manual and repair receipts as late as 2007. I'll get a better picture when I clean them up, but here they are in the Goodwill. My camcorder takes fuzzy pictures so I hope you can see them okay.

I just vacuumed the upper level with the Express. It is a very, very good canister. Much better than some of the uprights I own. I also looked more closely at the receipts, and the motor was replaced in 2001. I wonder if it's a genuine Eureka.
It turns out that the Hoover Legacy I got has an 8.0amp motor! I never knew Hoover made one in that amperage. I'm very excited to try it out in the morning. |
