Hence the thread Jake created on my behalf, I have bought a 1988 Hitachi Powerhouse CV2550!

And for how much ? Well, £3. Not too bad eh ?

I got it home and started the standard clean up. Boy did it need it.

I first of all opened up the dirt chamber and discovered a very, very dirty filter.

A good thorough clean in some warm water soon got it cleaned up though.

The actual cleaner was simple to wash, I cleaned the dirt chamber section using the power shower (was damn hard to get the price sticker off) and cleaned the rest of it with soapy water and a cloth.

After that I gave it a good shine up with some furniture polish.

Lastly I cleaned the original three tubes and the floor tool (took it apart and cleaned the insides).

I let everything dry out overnight and the next day I used it, so how was it ?

Bloody brilliant.

The 1000 Watt motor is very quiet, the suction is brilliant and it is well made.

I will upload some pictures when my batteries recharge.
