trying to mix it up a bit, im sure i dont need to go through a whole explanation. This works just like the vintage ebay threads but instead were using youtube.

This is literally a hoover 1 or my name isn't hoover 1!

Kenmore, TriStar CXL and Royal 880

Video by Tyler Campbell (thevacuumman).

My favorite two vacuums out of the three he demonstrates in this video are the TriStar CXL with the Eureka-made TurboBrush PN, and the Royal 880.

The 880, serial #D86F085203 (April 1986) has had its original light blue Adjust-O-Rite plug replaced. This is also one of the last 880s ever made (production officially ended for this model in March 1987, to be replaced by the 886/887), since it has the "Royal Five" logo on the front of the bag, and also a 5.4 amp motor.

"the Eureka-made TurboBrush PN"

Errrm, not quite, Interstate made the TurboBrush, basing it heavily on the Eureka design (hence the compatibility of some of the moving parts, E.G. Motor, Belt, axle assembly, etc., but the rest being IEC's own in-house design), the older power nozzles used on late Compacts and early Tristars were the Eureka-made Rotomatic PNs of course...

All the videos from YouTube user vintagehoover (probably known to the more tenured members around here) are excellent; really fine production values.  Very popular with my two year old son as well.

Here is a tour of his Hoover collection.

This was the last in a line of Hoover Commercial uprights going back to the model 913 of 1949.
