I just got a used Kirby Sentria off of CL for less than $100. The guy even drove it over to my place! Everyone around here is getting rid of their Kirbys because they are going to hardwood floors...but definitely not for less than $100.

It's used, about a year or so old, and has some minor wear marks on it. He gave me the attachment cady, but I have a feeling there might be some attachments missing. Works pretty well (no funny smells), and of course it could use some cleaning up. I was wondering if anyone could post a pic or direct me to one that shows all the kirby attachments? I don't have the DVD and am new to the complicated Kirby attachment world. Any suggestions for cleaning the attachments/machine?

I too got my Sentria off Craigslist, for $60.00

She said it was broken, but it just had a full bag and no belt..

I believe for standard attachments you should have a hose, 2 extension wands, upholstery tool, wall brush, dusting brush, crevice tool, hard floor tool, canister mode handle, suction relief elbow, intake guard, inflator tool, massage cup, and suds gun.
There are tons of optional attachments, like the carpet shampooer, zip brush, turbo sander, etc...

Wow, that sounds like some good deal! I wish people would post things like that in Gumtree (UK equivalent of Craigs List).

Get yourself to some local auctions, cos you never know, a Sentria sold at auction back near where I used to live went for a pittance, as you can see in the pic (where they mis-spelled Sentria) from the auction results catalogue... :P

Hi Jeff!

Congratulations on your Kirby Sentria purchase! You will LOVE your Kirby! You asked how to clean the attachments and caddy. The attachments and caddy are dishwasher safe so that's how I would go about cleaning them. The Kirby is by far the most versatile machine and very easy to use, I think you are really going to like it.

Thanks, everything seems to be there.

Once again, it was another person thrilled to get rid of their year old Kirby for...a SWIFFER. One thing I noticed is that I actually liked the Kirby hard floor attachment better than my Miele's. The Kirby got a lot stuck in the brush part, but it was much easier to clean. I just needed a few seconds with the hose vs. more time and effort (with more brush to clean) getting crud stuck on the Miele hard floor brush.
