How many of you here have ever attempted to use a Kirby or any other large vacuum cleaner to clean your computer, including the keyboard?

I believe with the Kirby it could perhaps suck the keys off the keyboard, correct?

Regards,

Ben Edge

Put the Kirby in the canister mode-use the "inflator-deflator" tool to clean the keys on the keyboard.Does well in getting the dust and crumbs from between the keys.for Kirbys that don't have inflator-deflator attachments-get a generic "micro" cleaning kit and use that on the hose of the Kirby.

I've done it using my Legend II, with the inflator/deflator attachment. I've also used to to blow out the CPU.

Oh yes, setting the Kirby into the blower compressor mode-and blowing the dust out of the computer-you would have to do that outside-amazing how much dust gets sucked into the computer unit with its fans and blowers!and since the blower mode of the Kirby is low pressure and gentile-unlike a regular 100PSI compressor-would cause damage. The high pressure air could blast dirt INTO the computer parts-causing damage.

I do have a small compressor that I use sometimes but it's very noisy and I like the sound of the Kirby much better. I take the computer and Kirby out on the back patio, and clean away, I usually do this every three months.

I use the compressor mostly for my typewriters.

Yep, I did it in suck-mode though, using a paintbrush and holding the nozzle a few inches away, so it would not pull any parts of the motherboard, worked well and the computer lived until it was dismantled for upgrades... :)

I regularly clean my PC with a Kirby using a soft brush on the end of the hose I find it works great on keyboards although I did once loose the R key off my old laptop when I did not use the soft brush so lesson learnt on that one. As for the main tower I just get the baulk of dust out using the hoover and the rest I blow out using my Air compressor.

I vacuum out the dust from the internals of my PC with my 2007 Numatic Henry using the dusting brush. Works every time :)
