Oreck doesn't make a bad vacuum. Some people have really given them a bad rap. The Oreck really grooms carpet nicely! However, I wouldn’t want one as my only vacuum. When buying an Oreck used you will need to be careful, because most of the ones I've found have busted fan housings. Which is probably the fault of the former owner picking up a coin or something hard to break the housing. I’ve found two in the trash with busted housings, the part was cheap and it was an easy fix!

If the smell is in the outer bag, remove the bag dock piece that holds the bag onto the machine by sliding it up and off, then wash the bag in the tub with Gain original detergent, rinse very well and hang or lay to dry. That is how we do it at the store and have had favorable results. | ||
