2nd Find this week is my Hoover Turbpower U1222.

Was in a fair state when I got it but with some lovin its come up great.

Its so good to have a dirty fan cleaner again since we got rid of out Turbomaster in the 1990s.
Im so surprised on how well they perform.

Im sick to the stomach we got rid of a Turbomaster for a Dyson DC01 in 1994 as you can imagine.

Me - ever so happy!

Blockage in the dirt channel but even prior to removal it still actually worked in the shop at my request to see it in action.

The original fitted plug, fitted because this is an Exclusive Elec board model I believe, thanks for Info Seamus.

I remember we got out Turbomaster from Manweb but I dont remember it having a similar plug though.

The Miele was used in the living room and upstairs with the Turbobrush I have the night before.
It always does a good job of cleaning or so I thought..... Im very very very dissapointed with the Miele at the minute as this came out of the living room carpet, the landing and my brothers bedrrom.............

On a kitchen tile 30cm x 30cm

This dust went up the Miele where it should have gone in the first place lol.

Grrr pics not working, il sort it out and post it ASAP.

Was about 4 tablespoons of grit/sand/ and 3 tablesppons of fluff.

Absolutely disgusting after we thought the Miele was doing great

Loving the turbopower mate :] looks to be very good condition apart from the small furry animal you extracted from the cleaning head ;p

And this is......

The hard box version- the lack of Dirtfinder lamp on this has always struck me as strange!. These models were exclusive models for the former Electricity board shops ;)

Plug

All exclusive Board models had fitted plugs- unlike 90% of UK appliances at the time!

Love the gunk you dug out!

There's nothing more satisfying than digging out years of someone else's dirt when doing up a cleaner... those layers are like an archaeological dig! Amazing the old girl still picked up.

I always thought it odd that the Exclusive models had a different headlight hierarchy to the standard machines. Made them a bit different I guess.

Hi Rob, wow nice vac, from your phone pic I thought it was the green one, I think the brush, sorry activator, was one of the best around, when first introduced,,,nothing like those wimpy purepower things...

Dont be too dissapointed with the Miele, deep down dirt needs a good activating before it loosens up, once removed its a doddle to keep clean...

Simon, arnt you bothered about what you might find??....LOl

Ooohhh those aromas!!!, cheers, Mike

Oh yes, Mike,

I always worry that I'm going to find something alive (or worse - dead!) every time I start work on a new machine. Thankfully, that hasn't yet happened, save the odd spider or woodlouse.

I think the fabric bag only Hoovers are the worst in terms of dealing with vintage dust - at least with a paper bag machine you can just take the (almost invariably full) bag out and shove it in the bin! Although I have had a few that were impacted full of muck almost to the fan...
