I got this Kirby Classic Omega today. It looks like it's in pretty good shape and it doesn't smell. Seems kinda loud, but not alarmingly loud (I'm not familiar with how healthy ones should sound). Bag needs to be cleaned a little bit. I know I can't send this one through the wash. I think someone suggested using woolite? What do y'all suggest?

Loud? Check the fan blades and motor bearings for proof.

Are any blades missing off the fan, take a flashlight, look in the opening, especially near the ends of the blades, also, turn the fan shaft, it should have no sound, nice and smooth, if it is grindy or not smooth you have a bad bearing. Good luck, looks like a nice machine, one of the earlier Omegs's.

Ok, I checked the fan and I didn't notice anything. I used it today and I think I've decided that it's loud because it's just more powerful than my other vacs...I could barely move it because it was so strong. Of course I'm used to using my Miele which is pretty quiet.
