Very up tonight. This afternoon a parcel arrived from Al in England. This is what was in it. I've spent all evening working on them. It really took my mind off what was lost in the fire and, considering that Thursday is my birthday, its the best gift I could have gotten.

Thanks Al. Its really appreciated.

Doug

Isn't it nice to get a lift like this?

I'll be in Philly Thursday, so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance!Run a nice HOOVER, eat some cake. Of course, you don't need a birthday to do either of those things.

Sorry to hear about all you lost.

I have both of those machines, My Granddad was the Elux MD for SouthAfrica before he passed away in 63. Its was a great moment for my dad when i found the ZA 55 in some ones garage. He remembered having that one as a child.

Hi Doug, Two good vacs. Have a great birthday. I'd have something nice to eat and drink and then find something more thrilling than running a old vac round, although suction may still come in to the equation;o)Hehehe. As they say your only as old as the person your feeling:o)

Doug - do you use a voltage transformer to power up the machines for use? What's your system for breathing life into these 240-volts vacs who have "immigrated" to 120-volt territory?

Hey Brian:

I rarely ever use my machines - they are for display. After all the work I go to cleaning them up I dont need to mess them up again.

On the flip side though we have 240 in Canada anyway. I just had a couple of 15 amp 240 volt outlets put into my workshop - then its just a matter of having adapters for the plugs. So I can use the machines any time.
