I have two dogs, one of which is a Golden Retriever. So I've always been on the lookout for the best brushroll for pets. With many brushrolls, my Golden's fur tends to get wrapped around it. I then have to use scissors to cut it off. However, I've found that a Eureka/Sanitaire VGII does a great job of allowing the fur to go directly into the vacuum. Fur rarely gets wrapped around it. Another very good brushroll for pets is the one designed by Kirby especially for pets. The wide spacing of the bristles doesn't allow much fur to get wrapped around the roll. What others have you found to be effective on pet hair?

I have been very impressed with my sebo felix brush roll , it doesn't get wrapped in pet hair like other machines, I have only had it a few days but I do have 11 cats

11 cats , 3 dogs , 1 hamster , 20 bunny rabbits ( we only had 11 last week but 9 arrived out the ground this week see new baby bunny thread) and I hate pet hair anywhere

Have you ever considered buying the Dyson pet groom accessory tool? It's brilliant on dog hair! I use one with my Numatic Henry since it comes with a 3.2mm adapter.

I second the VGII one of the best for both long human and animal hair.

I have always

been impressed with how the Riccar, Simplicity, Cirrus and Sanitaire metal brushrolls handle pet hair. It is very uncommon to see them wrapped with hair, like you see with the Kirby, Filter Queen, Oreck and other wooden brushrolls.

Well gsheen, not if you have a Miele or Sebo - I find anyway! Mind you, you'll need adaptors to fit both machines and I have both for my vacuums.

Even if you switch on a wap xls which makes a miele sound like a rocket they run, even i you just bring it into the room they vanish. Because we own a vac shop we have all the connectors you could ever want :)
