Hi-

Thanks to Joe Satkowski, I have a wonderful new Lux to work on!

It's a Model L, one of the early ones. Its paint is grey-beige, and it has the turquoise bumpers and wheels.

I have a question: Does anyone know where I could get paint that would be a match or a close match? The colour is the same IBM Beige you see on computers, so if anyone knows of a source for that in spray cans, that would be perfect.

Also, is the "Electrolux" logo on the side of the canister supposed to be filled in with turquoise paint? I know the later colours had their logo filled in with white paint.

Any info is welcome! And thanks again, Joe!

again with the questions.....

You must of been vaccinated with a phonograph needle..(Groucho) I'm pretty sure that the logo was the same color as the handle & wheels. Now, as far as paint matching, I buy paint by the quart and have it mixed exactly to the correct color and then use a sprayer/compressor to apply the finish. I know this is no help if you don't have aforementioned item. You know I'm just kidding about the smart-ass question remark right? I have a very bad sense of humor... Rick, (over here in lovely Snellville)

Paint For Electrolux

Hey,Sandy--Nathan at your service again. If there is a Lowe's or Home Depot near where you live, I have bought spray paint at either store in my area. They have some spray paint called "English Biscuit". English Biscuit comes pretty close to the original color of the white on the vacuum. Anyway--give that a try--

Always glad to help--Nathan

P.S. My internet is down right now so if you e-mail and I don't answer you'll know why--

Hey, THANKS!!! I can match the colour of the logo by mixing up some Testor's model paint, so now I'm good to go. I REALLY appreciate this tip. It was important to get as close a match as possible, because eventually I'd like to put a PN-1 with this machine, one of the white ones with the turquoise bumper.

crevicetool: You're fine- I knew you were kidding. You should get a load of my sense of humour sometime!
