Hello All,

Here are some pictures of my Classic III after I received it from Kirby. I optioned for the Heritage II bag assembly and the polished the sani-emptor. Everything in the power unit was replaced except for the armature and rug plate. I was told they sand blast the outside and inside, then polish the outside. I'm throughly impressed with the results. I choose this route because I could not have come close to this perfection.

That is beautiful. Kirby does an amazing job with their rebuilds.

How do you find out how much to rebuild?

Go to www.kirby.com/Portals/0/rebuild_p... and call the phone number provided and make a inquiry.

If you are not the original owner or you can't find the owners manual that was signed by the sales agentor have taken out the rebuild policy offered with the Heritage series on up. you will be paying more that what the manual states.

We wanted to send in my mom's Classic omega(that is the model prior to the classic III pictured) for rebuild. It would have cost $ 350.00 for the factory rebuild becouse the owners manual was lost by someone that borrowed the vacuum and we couldnt find the orginal sales receipt from 1973/1974 to prove orginal owner ship and get the rebuid at $49.00. I had checked into this in late 2010 or early 2011.

I have the rebuild policy with my Heritage II. It cost $10.00 up front when I bought the machine and will cost $100.00 per rebuild with that policy. I can only imagine what it would cost for a rebuild with out the policy. I would expect some where in the range of $600.00 to $1000.00 per rebuild

Good afternoon everyone.. This is my first post on the forum...

I have a Legend II that although looks shiny, I would love to have this rebuild by Kirby.

Even though I am not the original owner, I do have all of the original paperwork including the the Kirby "Gold Card" signed by the original owner and also am in posession of the original sales recept..

Do you think that Kirby would accept this or a rebuild information for a rebuild at the lower price? (may be a bit of a silly question, excuse me if it is).

Richard. :o)

That machine doesn't look like it needs it at all. You apparently are very good with your cleaning equipment.

Thank you Gottaaveahoove..

Maybe I'm just being picky...

Perhaps I should finish this one off myself.. :o)

Hi Richard, Your Kirby LII looks nice. But when it comes to rebuilds over here in the UK I don't believe they offer the same rebuild service they do in the states.
I think it's something to do with the EU. There are Kirby service centres over here where your Kirby can be serviced etc but not rebuilt like they do in the USA.
At one point there was talk that they might offer the service but it would have to of been posted to Germany.Where Europes main Kirby warehouse is. I don't think anything came of it.
