I picked this up at my local goodwill. I like the styling of these vacuums. It was only $9.99 but filthy.

I have not had the chance to use it yet but it looks to be ok.

I love those Vacuum Cleaner finds where they are filthy and slightly beaten up, because it makes it even more enjoyable when you restore them to good condition again!

I've never seen a red Panasonic upright before, so it was interesting to see the pictures.

By "Dirt Sensor", does that mean it has an Autosense type sensor to increase/decrease the motor speed ?

Jamie, no that's not what a Dirt Sensor is in North America. Over here, a Dirt Sensor is a sensor in the powerhead, which sends a signal to a red/green light; it will flash red if the area is dirty, & will turn green when no more dirt is detected.

Very nice find there, Wayne! Amazing what some people donate to Goodwills, eh?

Rob

Thanks for explaining Rob!

I think I'll be keeping my eye out for a Panasonic upright now!

Panasonic have done that dirt sensor thing on at least one of its cylinders which were on sale in the UK. It was in the floor tool and required a battery. Philips had something similar on the extention tubes. Neither of them were selling features for long. I don't think it was worth the bother.

Jmurray there has been at least one red UK version Panasonic upright, in the same style as the usual 1994-onwards white model which is so popular. It had a head light and electronic control. They also came in black, green, and blue, over the years but you may already know this.

I really love these body style of panasonics more then the classic jet flo body style and the MC-6955 is one of my dream panasonics.

Nice grab!

I love those Panasonics. They later even made a 12 amp version of the same thing, just modeled as the MC-V6965. Also, nice grab on the Dirt Devil as well. Those were one of the better bagless uprights from Dirt Devil in my opinion.

Those Panasonic uprights were very nice vacuums. You got a great find Turbo360.

I am saddened to tell you that the original author of this post, Wayne Michael Marchek, passed in January 2017. Cancer stole him at a very young age. Quite tragic. I never got to meet in person nor knew him well but yet was quite saddened myself.

God Bless and may he rest in peace!
