I got these from an old vac shop a while back. They were filthy and Rick A thougt I was nuts for picking them up. With a little TLC they turn out to be quite nice.
The Eureka's transmission didn't work but I still hd one new old stock still in the box that I ordered years ago. YAY and the Kirby is milling it's original white cord but I can deal with that. I did replace the bearings in the Kirby because they were very dry and screamed like a pig. Sounds like a dream now. The brushroll had been replaced and the customer never came back so I have a new brush roll in it.

So let me introduce the Eureka Wide Track ESP Self Propelled and the Kirby American Lincoln Super Sweep!!!!!
Kirby is dated 1973 and I believe the Eureka is early mid 80's I knew the Eureka was made but had never seen one before in the power drive model.

another pic of Eureka.
This goes in a set with a lower end square hood model, a power team canister and some other models all of the same color and they are mid 80's. I believe this is a little diffent in color than the regular self propelled model in the late 70's so I don't think that one goes with the set. I didn't care anything about sets until I met Rick Asquith, thanks a lot its a sickness.

I'm very jealous of that Eureka! I have been after that model for such a long time! Congrats! Those Super Sweeps are neat too! Two other collectors and I found that exact one in the garbage of a vac shop last summer. We didn't think it would run but it fired right up! It is also missing the original cord. Congrats on both of those though!

Eureka ESP wide track

Kirbyvertibles, I had actually found the same one as you on Craigslist but the seller was an a**hole to me. He claimed he didn't have it anymore then I had another collector friend call him up and he told my friend that he has it. I think he wanted $15. $25 tops for it if I remember correctly.

I love that Super Sweep by Kirby. There is one at a local Kirby office. I'd buy it, but the guy wants $300 for it. I am waiting for him to come to his senses... that might be a while.

$300.00 is way to much unless it means that much to you. I called Kirby years ago when I got my Kirby Com-vac 1600. I needed a few things and they said these never existed. I said I have it right here and Kirby is all over it. She transfered me to Kathy in rebuild department. She said they didn't like to talk about all the commercial models as they felt they were a flop??? I don't believe that at all, but one thing was clear, they didn't want to talk about them and I wasn't getting the parts I needed (a belt cap). I'm just so glad this Super Sweep had a new brush roll put in it years ago when it was dumped at the vac shop.

Hey Brian,
I was just informed that you live next door to some dear old friends of mine. very small world. Doris bought a new Kirby G-3 and never really liked it and when we became friends she hounded me about getting her a Fantom Cyclone upright and I tried to talk her out of it for a few years finally she broke me. I sold her the Fantom and took the Kirby for trade. Guess what, she never liked the Fantom so right before they moved I sold her a Hoover Windtunnel self propelled bagged. As far as I know that what she still has? I have not seen them since they moved.
