I bought an NOS Hoover Brush Roll off of Ebay a while back thinking it would fit my Hoover 63 or 64. However, it does not. The endcaps seem to be correct but the brush roll seems bigger around than what should go into a 63 or 64. The little bar in the middle that protects the belt hits the beater bar when it comes around so I know the brushroll must be a bigger diameter than it should be. Any ideas what it will fit? Could it be for a commercial vacuum?

Hoover brush roll

this is the right brush roll for a hoover 63 maybe the end caps are on the wrong side if the belt does not line up with the belt gard. as one side is longer than the other side on the brush roll. all the older Hoover's take the same brush roll, some have a diffident shaft and end caps than other models. but the brush tube is the same size on most all models except some models take different brush strips. the one you have pictured takes the new style canoe brushes. this was met to replace all of the older hoover models.

Thanks Chris, you are right. I just switched the endcaps and now it fits like it should. I guess this brushroll was made for several models and depending on what model you have determines where the endcaps need to go. Thanks again.
