Well, as Ron and I were out and about yesterday, we decided to make a stop at Goodwill, and Salvation Army. Well the Salvation Army had nothing inside, but as we were leaving Ron spotted a lady pulling a vacuum out of her trunk. We pulled over to her and I asked out the window if she was dropping it off, she said yes, and I asked if I could have it. She was kind of hesitant but reluctantly agreed to hand it over to me after I offered her $5.00. Upon some inspection when we got it home, we realised that the brush roll bearings were shot as it made a horrific grinding sound. The bag is also incorrect as you will see in the pictures it is a top fill type A bag design. It had the usual scuffs and paint marks all over the base and hood, a few tape spots on the cord, and the belt pulley was covered with hair and carpet strings. I was kind of bored last night so I started to take it apart to just clean it up a little, but I got carried away and ended up stripping it completely down. After about 4.5 hours today with a Magic Eraser, scrub brush, and lots of elbow grease I have this. I was quite surprised at how well the Magic Eraser worked on taking all the paint scuffs off the hood and base. There are no deep gouges in the hood, just a few nicks.
I would like to find a replacement bag for it, I would love to have the original one but I will settle for something like it as long as its a type C! I would also like to have a replacement brush roll, one with the beater bars and brush strips!
