Hey guys check out the find Ryan & I scored today. Shes's in rally good condition & is very clean inside the bag chamber & out.I have wanted a Hoover Quik Broom for some time. My grandmother used to have a version of this back in the 80's. The floor nozzle on these has always appealed to me. Anyone know the year this would have been produced? We looked & can't seem to find a serial number.

The model my grandma had was a harvest gold color. And I believe hers had a "cassette" bag system, which this does not have. I know I saw a thread on VL a few months back where someone had found this same model & color and was asking questions about it.

Any info you guys have is much appreciated.

Didn't think about it until a few minutes ago, but we found a green vac on St Patrick's day, LOL! :)

hey brian......

that was made around 1976, it was the matiching machine to the pickles convertible, there was also a Estae blue one in 1978 (one of the Estae set pices im missing), and a white and blue one with a powermatic head in that same line (was laso porduced under the Western Auto name), and a Butterscotch model in 1979 that matched my moms convertible.....=), those were really neat to look at, and i love the green against the woodgrain......and hell, it must be lucky!

heres the sales sheet for the accompanying Convertible

Tyler thanks for the Hesco link. I really like the schematic view of all the machines.

Jason, I didn't even think about this as being a part of the pickles lineup. I had the pickles convertible at one point in the past. I shoulda kept it! I still have to get my mind wrapped around thinking of Hoovers in sets.

Now I know the official color of the version my grandma had, "butterscotch". Not harvest gold as I originally called it. LOL

Actually

The color names for both the S2039 Quik Broom and the U4119 Convertible are "Camel with Oyster White trim." The colors for the S2009 Quik Broom and U 4057 Convertible are "Lichen Green and Oyster White."

Great find on that green Quik Broom! I have a cassette-bag model (S2087, styled in Honey Beige and Oyster White) that I absolutely LOVE!

Color Names

Ray, thanks for the clarification on the color names. After my original post, Jason sent me scans of original Hoover advertisements. I noticed on those that the color names were "camel" & "oyster white".

Do you have a pic of yours to post? I don't think I have seen the honey beige & oyster white combination.

The Hoover S2087

This is my Hoover Quik Broom model S2087, a cassette-bag model with a 3-speed motor.

That's a beaut Ray! It looks just like the one my grandma had. I did not realize that they were made in a 3-speed model also.
