I was looking online for some more Electrolux info for I may have to get a hose for my super J and I saw that there is a new electrolux that looked a lot like the old 1205. Sure enough it is described as a new version of the old units. I am not trying to promote it or anything, but I was always disappointed that the new electrolux cleaners had gotten so bad over the years. I hope that this is a sign that the company needs to go back to the "solid as a tank" idea. Here is a link:

Yep!

The Perfect is a Chinese-made copy of the later metal-bodied Electroluxes, with one major change: the Automatic Control has been left off. The design patents for the old Electrolux machines have expired, so Perfect is free to copy them.

Some people think the Perfect is great, and others think it's a cheap copy, so you might want to see one in action and use it before making up your mind about wanting one.
