I joined this site a year or so ago when I found a Model 1205 Electrolux curbside at a house that was being sold. It ran but had little suction. It was worked on five years prior by a reputable company (service sticker on unit) and had a newer hose so I knew it was maintained in the recent past. It did not have a power nozzle but did have a complete floor nozzle and wand. Sure enough the hose and the nozzle were obstructed. Unit worked great after clean out and my wife was amazed how great it works.
Yesterday I spotted a gold electrolux (Super J) with power nozzle at the curb around the block from where I live. I actually grabbed it from the garbage pile as the garbage truck pulled up to the corner. The truck had to wait for me to back out of the driveway to pull up. I will be turning it on today to see if and how it works. There was a slight drizzle the night before, but unit was on it's end and everything was dry inside. I still figured it would be better to let it sit a day and allow any moisture to evaporate. There was no hose for it so I am hoping that the reason it is was discarded is because the hose was shot.
My Grandmother had a model 1205 and after I got the 1205 last year my mother told me that she still has one also. She also told me that in the 60's or early 70's my Uncle used to sell them door to door. They are great units and I can't

finding those LUX's on the curb!! Honestly...... I know there have been literally thousands of LUX's taken to the dump and worse....I try not to lose sleep over it, but sometimes I do. In a 'perfect world' I would stumble upon a huge pile of discarded LUX's...all the models I like and someone would actually pay me to restore them. Like I said, in a 'perfect world'.....
