Hi Erik!
The Eureka Easy Glide upright was a lightweight vacuum - or more like Eureka's version of General Electric's electric carpet sweeper. Everything is contained in the base - the motor sucked in air through a tiny disposable dust-bag and the other end of the motor had a drive shaft to spin the brush roll. The model seems to be Model 210 - which seemed to be retreating to the 200 series of model numbers that Eureka used for uprights in the early 1960's. I think this Easy Glide was sold in the late 1960's at the same time as the Eureka Emperor upright which was made for them by Panasonic in Japan. It could be that this electric carpet sweeper was also made by Panasonic - not sure. Hope this helps! |

Wow - I knew Eureka vacs were badged with private retailer names like Eaton's "Viking," The Bay's "Baycrest" and "Beaumark", JCPenney, Montgomery Ward, Firestone and Western Auto....
but "Bradford" for the W.T. Grant chain of stores? From Wikipedia: "Grant's store-branded electronic and other goods were named "Bradford" after Bradford County, Pennsylvania, the county where William Thomas Grant was born." Lookie here! A Princess labelled Bradford.....excellent condition too! :-) But no hose or tools... :-( CLICK HERE TO GO TO eurekaprince's LINK on eBay |

The above toy was the British/European Elux that was labeled as a Viking when sold in US about 1985 as ABLux was already using the Viking name on sewing machines. |

I feel so sorry for this poor Electrolux model 30. The entire body looks like it has been dipped in blue paint. They even painted the wands, how Ugly! I had a Metropolitan rebuild and I absolutely hated the painted wands. The attachments look so cheap compared to the original metal attachments and the hose end is from a newer electric hose. Metropolitan should have paid more attention to detail. CLICK HERE TO GO TO kloveland's LINK on eBay |

There is one particular person on this forum who always titles all of his auctions “vintage” so his vacuums will get views by collectors. Even if the vacuum is a year old he will still put vintage in the title. I’m sure that there are people on the forum who are annoyed at my posts. It’s difficult to please everyone. |

Actually Brian posted that one just a little further up the thread.
We actually discussed this a short while ago, Brian said it looks like a UK Hoover upright, actually it was a UK Electrolux upright. If you scroll down the thread you will see the Regina full size cleaner, this looks identical to that cleaner, presumably they supplied with with a smaller motor with no fan Al CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacbear58's LINK |

Thanks for this clarification Al!
Actually, I think the Regina power nozzle DOES include a fan. It's basically the same motor and brush unit as the yellow Regina upright, minus the bag and handle. To use Tacony's terminology, the power nozzle creates a "tandem air system" when attached to the wand and hose of Regina's canister vac....if I remember correctly. Can anyone confirm this? EP Brian |

I just HAD to post this here! I found a Kirby 510 in the Belleville, Ontario area for only $30 dollars! Although it has no hose & attachments, the upright itself looks mint. Only problem is the guy wants it picked up locally....

Although on the face of it this seems expensive, the cleaner has original bag and flex, boxed tools (which often go for quite large sums on money) and includes shipping so overall, in my opinion its a reasonable buy. If I had not already got one, albiet not in quite as good condition as this I wiould be pressing that buy it now button myself
The seller also has other vintage cleaners in their other items, worth a look Al CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacbear58's LINK on eBay |

Could somebody please give this poor wee Lux a good home ? Needs a bit of TLC but what vintage vacuum doesn't ?
It seems to be getting more and more common for Electrolux 500 Series to be being sold without the rubber bumper, but this one has it's bumper, just isn't fitted. Probably could do with a clean and maybe a lick of black paint. CLICK HERE TO GO TO jmurray01's LINK on eBay |

Mint set of Eureka upright attachments in red caddy! Beige tools, steels wands, beige hose.
This will fit any classic "motor-first" Eureka F&G Bag Dial-A-Nap/Rugulator upright. Don't expect a hurricane of suction to come out of the hose, but these are high quality tools that are a great addition to your Eureka - especially if you have a Eureka with the matching cream/beige colour. They do great for light dusting and car interior cleaning and the floor brush will whisk away surface litter and dust bunnies with ease. CLICK HERE TO GO TO eurekaprince's LINK on eBay |

Just read about that Electrolux V Model a bit further up.
God almighty! Looks like somebody DID (or maybe it was somebody with an affiliation to the seller trying to get people bidding ?) bid and won, but then they relisted it for £1,500! Lets just say they seem to be a sandwich short of a picnic. Oh, hang on, there was a reason for clicking onto this thread! Being early and my brain stuck in 1st gear I completely forgot. OK, here is a listing with a low starting bid for a lovely working Hotpoint! I'm no expert, but I've never seen one of those before so I'd say they were pretty rare, or nobody wants to sell theirs maybe! CLICK HERE TO GO TO jmurray01's LINK on eBay |

I've been trying to figure out which German subsidiary of Electrolux would have made this for the Eureka division in North America. Electrolux had slapped the name "Eureka" on a few German "Progress" vacs for sale on our side of the Atlantic, so maybe this is a Progress vac?
Because the brandplate says "Made in West Germany," we can date this from betwee 1974 (the year Electrolux bought Eureka) and 1989/1990, the time when Germany reunited and the word "West" was no longer used. Any ideas? Which model of Progress vac or AEG vac is this? CLICK HERE TO GO TO eurekaprince's LINK on eBay |

This eBay auction for this D50 sees many exterior replacements (other than the replacement bag and general trim pieces):
* The original headlight assembly is replaced (original one would have the illuminated "Kirby" logo on it) * The rug nozzle has a '50s-style belt lifter on it (original one was triangle-shaped and had the "Dual Sanitronic" decal amid a sunburst background) Other than that, this is indeed a D50 (the original nameplate will remind you). ~Ben CLICK HERE TO GO TO KirbyClassicIII's LINK on eBay |
