Does anybody know where I can buy a brushroll bearing(pulley side) for a U6007? Hesco doesn't have them anymore. I picked this vac up yesterday, along with a very nice hoover portable from CL at 15.00 for the pair. It's in excellent shape but it's absolutly filthy. The only problem is the rollbrush bearing. I was once told that the concept 1 could be used, but I don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The cavity in the brush roll ("agitator") is the same inside diameter as the newer bearings that were used for so long. I pulled a roll out of one my my DAM's and comparing it (and the bearing components) to those used in, say, a Concept One, I'm confident that you could make a hybrid. You could even use a Concept One roll except that the thread guard on the non-pulley end has a little hub on it that makes it about 1/8 inch too long to fit into the DAM. You could use the thread guards off of the DAM roll on the one from the Concept One.

If you look at the drawings on Hesco's site, you will see at the top of the second diagram where they compare old and new bearing set-ups. It sounds like you may have the old type that is held in place with a clip. These were superceded by the later type with the plastic washer which was used for many years, up into plastic brush rolls.

Now if you're saying that Hesco no longer carries the later type bearing, then you can get one out of a donor vac. Plenty of the Windtunnels have plastic rolls that use this bearing. Your local friendly vac shop might have several in a drawer and would part with one.
