Hi Andy - - - The handi-butler takes a larger belt than the rug nozzle or floor polisher does. I've replaced a couple of them and my guess is that they are getting harder to find as Kirby hasn't made a handi-butler like you have for many years. Check with the Kirby dealers in your area. One of them will probably have some. The attachments for your unit attach magnetically, so the grinding wheel should pull straight out of the unit. Hope this helps.
Good Luck!

The belts aren't hard to find, you just need to ask the right people... :) Like Kent Oyler: CLICK HERE TO GO TO twocvbloke's LINK on eBay |

One more quick question about the Handi-Butler. The flexable power take off shaft, can I lube that with white lithium greese at all? Thanks, Andy |

i lubed the flex shaft with 3 in 1 oil. since the entire shaft for the length of the extension moves, grease wouldn't travel down to the other end or center very well. white lithium gease works well on repacking bearings, however. for most non motor parts of a kirby (ie rug nozzle lock, handle spring, miracle head solid axles) 3 in 1 oil will work just fine.
