All that I know about Galaxy ... ... is that it might have been a "house brand" of Sears and K-Mart. Reason I say this is because I have seen uprights and canisters with this name on them in both Sears and K-Mart stores here in town: they were positioned as "entry level" or "value priced" machines.
Sorry to say that this is all the info I've got ... hope it helps somewhat.

I am just guessing but it looks to me to be from about the 60's? I will take a photo and get the model number. I know the "upper" handle is gone/broken. I just spotted it under a shelf keeping company with a lewet, and a swivel top. | ||

Tania... Isn't that Galaxie canister very similar to the Satellite Fred Nelson has, or the Horizon i have???? I have a good collection of Sears catalogues, If you give me an idea of the year, I will look it up, or try to! | ||

Thanks, Sorry I haven't responded, I had some things come up unexpectedly, I will take the pictures tomorrow and post them, I did check and it is a sears product. I will let you know what I find out then. | ||
