There is a steel fabrication place here in town and I stopped in there with my dad the other day. This place has been there since my grandpa was a kid. As soon as we walked into the office, I got that 'vibe' that there would be an old vacuum in there. It was like walking straight into the 1970s. We happened to go into the production area and I moved my eyes all over and didn't see anything. Just as we were walking back into the office, I turned my head and saw this commercial Eureka. I told the lady about my vacuums and she said she would ask the owner if I could have it and she would call me with an answer. Well on Saturday I got the call saying that I could have it! She also said that he has some more in the back that I can pick up on Wednesday!
It was basically stored in a garage, and didn't look like it was used in years. I figured the bearings would be shot, the brushroll would be seized, and/or the fan would be shattered. It turns out it had none of the those! This runs absolutely perfect! It even has a good belt on it! It's just in die hard need of a massive cleaning. I washed the bag tonight and it looks really good. I'll hopefully have this looking good by the end of the week! |
