Last week I won the auction on eBay for a nice Electrolux model 20. I just got around to opening the box today, I have to say with the exception of the rubber handle being dried out, the machine is in amazing condition. I am amazed there is no information about this vacuum anywhere on the internet with the exception of Charlie Lesters paragraph about it. He is right, this is quite a puzzling machine, it definitely looks like a lower tiered model of the model XXX. And definitely was manufactured after the model XXX was produced. The exhaust on the machine has saloon doors like the later model XXX, but other things on it show that it is earlier production, for example the steel wands have the Electrolux logo embossed in them, the same way my 1937 model XXX has. The rug nozzle is just a basic non swivel rug tool, similar the the model V but it has a gleaner bar added to it, the dusting brush is the mushroom type of the model XXX but it is painted with textured grey paint to match the tank itself. The floor nozzle is a model XXX floor brush with a almost black bumper to match the tank also. The upholstry nozzle is basically the same as the model XXX. The cord is a model XXX cord with a different type of male plug, not your typical Belden plug as most model XXX's have. The tank is a "pre filter" design, not a after filter design like the model XXX. I didn't take it apart, but if you look in the blower outler, you can see the rear bearing, it looks alot different than the model XXX motor. The runners are flat, like the older model XXX. Front cover is very light when you remove it, almost tinny. It didn't come with the original hose. This machine is in excellent shape, no dents or scratches on it. I will take some pictures and post them when I clean it up.

If you have the time, I would really like to see pictures of the machine! There is hardly any pictures on the internet, so I would really appreciate it if you could post some!

Thanks :)
Daniel

Charlie, please do take pictures when you can.  I know that there are many of us on here that can't wait to see it.

Somewhere!

I have a copy of consumer reports test of this machine, I think it was 1941, if im not mistaken it came with just a floor tool rug tool and dusting brush and sold for 49.00, I will see if I can find it.

Model 20 (XX)

Charles Lester's website has more pics & info about this rare Electrolux model XX (20)

What I don't know is if it was a wartime-only model or an economy model during the XXX-era?
