Does anyone have any info on the GE u1 slim upright from around 1960? It seems to me that GE quit making uprights from about 1950 until 1960. They went from the big Royal looking machines to a modern slim upright. Am I correct? Plus, how did the tools work on that machine since it was so slim?

The tool converter was similar to the last Hoover convertible style going under the brush with the addition of a rubber strap that went to bottom of handle to hold in place. Then the hose and atts were same as tanswivel top of same period. The motor was in a round rotating housing.Round, sort of like a ball, with the motor inside,to make it easier to push. Why hasn't anyone else thought of this?!
