I have a Sanitaire 648 B and have tried multiple brushrolls with new brush strips in them, and I still can't get the vacuum to seal in to the carpet when vacuuming even if the height adjust is on the lowest setting. Anyone else ever have this problem with a Sanitaire? By the way, sorry if this was supposed to go in contemporary , I'm not sure of the age of this vacuum.
Thanks, Teddy

Clogged bag
Missing/damaged nozzle seal gasket
Broken fan
Brushrolls don't seal vacuum cleaners to the floor, they do the opposite, they push the carpet away in a beating action, it's the combination of airflow and suction that pulls carpeting up to the nozzle and seals it...
If its the nozzle seal, just clean off the rugplate, remove any traces of the old gasket, run a bead of silicone sealant round the edge, leave it to set for 24-hours and then re-fit (do not refit before it's set otherwise the rugplate will be difficult to remove, and you'd have to re-do the seal again)...
