Thats funny. I remember those. My mom had one that my Grandma bought for her. It was a good machine and it lasted my mom a while (considering my mom is hell on vacuums) but the only problem is and my best friend had the same problem with hers was that if something broke on it it was virtually impossible to find parts and fix.

Nice. I didn't realize they had a Consumer's Digest sticker originally. I really liked these when they came out and thought seeing the dirt spin was fun. I only recall one person who had one, a neighbor of mine. I haven't really seen any others other than when they were at Kmart back then. I did see a Fantom Fury at Habitat Re-Store a few years ago though.

Just a caution: There is an o-ring on the top of the removeable canister. While you might notice it falling into the trash while emptying, another household member who doesn't have the same love of vacuums might not. Therefore, don't let anyone else use the vacuum but you.

My friend has one, and she knew it would fall off, but her husband didn't. Anyway, she has it taped up now, and has never been able to find a suitable replacement for the o-ring.

If anyone else has had this problem, do you know of a substitute from a different brand that works?
