I just got my mother's Diamond Jubilee Vacuum. I plan on using it, but the motor is so loud. I think it is about to go. Will a quieter motor like a G or 1205 fit in this machine? I know these are much quieter while not as powerful.

The motor is most likely loud because it has bad bearings. I suggest using an Ultralux motor. It will fit perfectly and has double ball bearings vs the cheaper ball/sleeve that the Diamond J uses.

A 1205 motor or a Super j motor would require some cutting of the internal mounting area in order to make it fit. You would also need to change the bag chamber.

If you want pictures of this stuff I can post some.
