I'm pretty sure there is nothing wrong, but I thought I'd ask you knowledgeable people here just to be sure!
When I put a new Exhaust Filter on my 1994 HOOVER Turbopower 1000, it gets pretty black with carbon deposits after a couple of months of vacuuming. I use it twice per week, so lets say in 2 months it has been used to vacuum the whole house (a large 3 bedroom dwelling) 16 times. Is it normal for the filter to go black in that time ? The motor runs very smoothly, and it doesn't seem to have any problems at all. Oh, and once per week it is used for some heavy work (cleaning up wood shavings) with "Turbo" engaged, so I presume that is increasing the blackness also ? |

I went upstairs to the "Vacuum Cleaner Room" a minute ago and it is actually going grey not black, so I'm not that worried any more.
I'll wait until it gets almost black then change it. It isn't a washable filter so I don't want to take it out any sooner than I have to seeing as I'll have to spend money on a new one! |
