Have you ever wanted to know how fast the motors are running regarding some of these 1980s Royal metal uprights? Look no further than this back page off of the 1988 Royal Dealer-Direct Household Cleaners brochure.
Model 881 (4.5A) spins at 10,450 RPM with a brush speed of 4060 RPM. The belt drive has a nearly 4:1 ratio. These figures would also apply to models 153 (1981-87), 285 (1981-83), 602 (1981-85), 604, 608 (1981-85), 611 (1981-85), 777 (1981-83), 784, 801 (1981-87), 880 (1981-85) and 903 (1981-85). Model 884 (5.4A) spins at 11,625 RPM with a brush speed of 4100 RPM. These figures would also apply to models 608 (1985-87), 611 (1985-87), 654, 880 (1985-87), 882, 883 and 903 (1985-87). Models 886, 887, 992 and 993 (6.0A) all spin at 11,054 RPM with a brush speed of 4027 RPM. These figures would also apply to models 660, 661, 662, 663, 680, 681, 682, 683, 885, 889, 6000, 6005, 6103, 6805, 7000, 7600, 7610, 7620, 7630, 7800, 7810, 7820, 7830, 8000, 8801AE, 9000, 9005 and 9089. On the very old (pre-1981) 350W, 400W and 3.0A models the motor and brush speeds would be significantly lower than the provisions stated for the 4.5A models. ~Ben |
