Being new on here I have been looking at the photos many of you have posted of machines in your collections. Why do you not show them with the attachments? There were some, airways, tri star, a few newer Eureka canisters and the Hoover 61 62. But I have several that have wood backs but no logo's,and others that are in colors. Some are easy, Kenmore, Eureka, Hoover attchements with the post, but others not so much. I was hoping I could identify what machines they go to from photo's on here. What is my best source to i.d. them? Any resources for this?
I would appreciate any suggestions.

"A picture is worth a thousand...."

Welcome to the forum!

Please post some photos of your attachments and someone here will likely be able to identify them.   It could be a game of "name that vacuum!"

I agree! I LOVE canisters, and have been told I'm pretty good at id-ing tools, so I'll give it a shot. Also, our beloved Kenkart's good at that too. On with those pics, Trg

Sounds like a plan!

This could be fun! I will photo them in the a.m. and post tomorrow. I really appreciate it! I have been busy sorting them and compiling them by brands and colors where I can. I have quite a few sets of brown Whirlpool attachments. I just uncovered a Whirlpool 9000 p.n. and hose but haven't checked it out thoroughly yet. Lots of Royal canister attachements in bright blue, dark blue and maroon. quite a few for Electrolux, Rainbow, Kirby, Tri Star, Eureka, Hoover. Know anything about a Western Auto p.n in avacado green that was perhaps made by FQ?I have 4 sets of Bison attachments in the boxes; 2 green and 2 brown. Are any of these items hard to come by? how about a couple of attachments for regina in burnt orange? Guess that's enough until morning, sorry I got carried away trying to figure it all out.

Don't Know If This Helps -

- But here is a photo of all the attachments for a TriStar CXL/DXL/EX20:

They are (clockwise from top left):

- Floor tool
- Rug tool
- Dusting brush
- Crevice tool
- Upholstery tool with snap-out grille (the grille is nearly ALWAYS missing, and NLA)
- In Center - tool caddy that snaps onto wand; holds dusting brush, upholstery tool and crevice tool

There was also a clear/glitter "rug shoe" that snapped onto the floor tool to convert it into a rug tool; this is seen on many machines instead of the real rug tool.

Rug Shoe:

This is not the greatest pic, but the rug shoe can be seen just below the floor and rug tools. You can also see how the dusting brush, upholstery tool and crevice tool fit onto the tool caddy:

tri star parts

I have several brand new rug shoes and I actually have a couple if not more of the upholstry tool grates. I came across one old duster brush in white I think, but the glitter tools I have a few sets of as well. I also have maybe 8 new black exhaust cap sets that rivet on. I didn't see which main unit you have, also is that p.n light gray or white?

Ann:

That PN is gray.

I have an email in to you about a black PN, and if you would be willing, could you throw in a quote on an upholstery tool grille?

Thanks!

Hamilton Beach

Wow! That is cool looking, I don't think I have any of hamilton beach vacs I will have to see if I can find any other attachments that go with the floor tool and keep them together. Is the crevice tool plastic, metal or pressed paper? Thanks for showing me that unit.

Danemosandy
I will see what all I have and get back to you tomorrow.

Part "O" is Eureka's famous "Groom-a-Pet" tool to clean the fur of dogs and cats! It seems to have appeared with the plastic tool caddy that came with the Empress II canisters and some uprights of the early 1970's.

All the brown attachments (F, R and V) that are designated for Singer vacuums are pretty much identical to Eureka attachments as they were made by Eureka for Singer in the 1960's. In the 1970's, Singer's attachments looked very similar to Eureka's, but they had more "squared" necks into which you inserted the wands or hose handles - for example, the floor brush labelled "B".

Hi Ann:

The crevice tool appears to be fibre board (pressed card board). It doesnt show a dusting brush in this picture but I suspect that the one you have marked N may be from this same machine.

Looks like Toby, Jimmy, and Hans have done an excellent job identifying your attachments. I noticed you said you have lots of Royal attachments in bright blue, dark blue, and maroon, and was wondering what you might have available for sale or trade in bright blue.
Email me at pressmanjs@yahoo.com.
Thank you,
Jeff
