Yukkers but I couldn't leave them behind. I only gave them a cursory wipe for this picture, maybe I should have waited LOL. Anyways, I didn't get any hoses or attachments for either

Hi Petek! Just wanted to know if that one Connie in the picture is really the lime green color that it looks, and if it runs good. If so, are you gonna hang on to it or find it a good home. I have the Slimeline and Dail-a-Matic in that cool lime green color. Later, Trg

It does work and is that color if not a little brighter but quite a few scritches and the vinyl is filthy along with slight bits o rust along the rim of the base, a curse of many connies but it should clean up ok. I'm not sure what the color is, Tom will know...btw this is a Canadian made in Hamilton Ontario Hoover model 888. Sometimes the color schemes were altered a little from the US versions.. the gold one is a model 451 also made in Hamilton.

I'm planning on keeping it, for now anyways.

Great Connies!!!!!!!!!

One of these days I'm going to sneak across that border into Canada and do some thrifting. I'm SOOOO close and I never seem to get there.

Good finds Pete.

Childhood memories...

The words "Hoover Constellation" were exchanged by my mom and me in the fifties, when she owned the Elgin Standard tank on runners. She gave the Elgin to one of my cousins who had it put on wheels. Mom didn't want to ruin the wood floors in the Lynchburg, VA. house, so Daddy bought her that grey G.E. Swivel-Top with the floor washer. Thrift shops and vacuum shops in this area bite, so they are non existant here. Gotta get one now.

Wow...Pete, I really like the green Connie. That has to be one of the later ones. How long did you guys have the Constellation series? Here in the US, it only lasted until 1975. Great pics!

I'm not exactly how long it lasted here, I ditched some of my old catalogues though some are boxed away.

You guys are welcome to come visit, only 3 or so odd hours drive from either Canton or Buffalo. In fact there are a few old vacs out there right now I've passed on at the thrifts sorely for lack of space. Not that I couldn't make the space but I have yet to get around to getting this house and my basement organized since we moved here last fall I ace at being a put'er off'er. I could probably do with getting rid of some of them cluttering me up now but won't trash em.
