The words "Hoover Constellation" were exchanged by my mom and me in the fifties, when she owned the Elgin Standard tank on runners. She gave the Elgin to one of my cousins who had it put on wheels. Mom didn't want to ruin the wood floors in the Lynchburg, VA. house, so Daddy bought her that grey G.E. Swivel-Top with the floor washer. Thrift shops and vacuum shops in this area bite, so they are non existant here. Gotta get one now.

Wow...Pete, I really like the green Connie. That has to be one of the later ones. How long did you guys have the Constellation series? Here in the US, it only lasted until 1975. Great pics! --Tom |
