Another picture. Notice this machine still has the Sears store security color tape stuck on the dirt bin. It must've been a "carry out." I left it on just for laughs. There is also a Sears inventory label stuck on one side. |

Another picture. This one is looking down on the top of the nozzle from the operator's position. It shows the LED lights indicating carpet height. |

Still another picture. This shows the front of the handle where the two switches are (+ or -) for the carpet height adjustment and below that, the power switch. |

Still another picture. View looking down from the operator's position. Top of dirt bin and the LED indicators for "dirt finder" feature and "performance indicator." |

Just thought I'd say a few words. I've used the blue Progressive bagged model before and I LOVED IT! It was very powerful, I thought the agitation and deep cleaning was incredible, the suction and airflow was fantastic, I was really impressed with the filtration it had, and I thought the build quality was excellent. It definitely was a little heavy to use but I would take this anyday over a Miele S7/U1 (In my opinion).
My step aunt used to own the green Retraxx bagless model before and she didn't like it. She didn't like how it was so heavy for her and she didn't like that it clogs up the filter screen whenever she would use it, after that she later took it back to Sears. I thought it was alright when I used one before but I liked the blue Progressive model the best. And I've also used the blue Quick Clean bagless model before and I thought it was also alright as well but it was definitely lighter than the green Retraxx model. What I thought was very unique from these PhoneMate Kenmores was that they used similar designs and parts from Dirt Devil (TTI) and Masushita (Panasonic). For example, the green Retraxx bagless model uses a Dirt Devil F8 filter and the blue Progressive bagged model uses a Panasonic U bag. Although all of these PhoneMate Kenmores uses a Dirt Devil style 10 belt but I found that they can also use a Panasonic style UB-8 belt since it's the same size. Here are links that shows these other Kenmores from other members here: www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-... www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-... |

Also panasonicvac, how do you feel about the Dirt Devil Reaction? I know Dirt Devil is worse than before. |

Dirt Devil and Bissell are the Mitsubishi and Chrysler of vacuums. |

The fact these were made when the recession was in full swing proves people didn't want to spend money on a Dyson. |

If it is anything like the Dirty Devil that it looks like, it is truly awful. That dirt cup design has extremely poor fine dust separation, as there are no real cyclones, and on the D/D the filter clogged up nearly immediately leaving you with little to no actual cleaning power. Its a truly terrible design that should have died with the D2 Reaction, sadly Sears had to dredge it up from the grave where it belonged...

Just FYI, just because a major retailer says the parts are unavailable doesn't mean they are. Just go to another website, or a vacuum store. The part being unavailable has nothing to do with how many broke. With the vacuum makers, after approximately 2 years, any parts for the vacuum are purged from the site and are no longer available for sale. They want you to buy a new vacuum. They never keep parts inventories.
I can still find parts for my 1994 Panasonic vacuum, and I found them on a small-business Yahoo page. PS: This was a $120.00 vacuum in 2008. |
