I have never seen a shag rug tool from the '50's, didn't even realize shag was around back then, thought that came much later in the late 60's-70's. Anyone seen or have one of these Eureka shag tools? Was Eureka unique to have that available at that time?

Yes, shag rugs, as room size or smaller in bedrooms were common in the 50's & 40's Then in the late 60's and early 70's they were wall to wall carpeting. Electrolux had a shag rug carpet tool in the late 50's,early 60's then the Power nozzle took it's place. I have to say, that my sister had that same cannister in the 50's but as a singer brand. It was a great vacuum but the hose at the machine end cracked and split very early on. So the hose saw a lot of gray duct tape at one end or the other most of the time. Norm
