I need a little help from all of the Hoover collectors out there. I need a few pictures of Hoovers from the 1960s and 70s. In school I'm doing a US History project on design and I wanted to add some Hoovers to my 1960s and 1970s sections. I thought they would be an ideal representation of cultural influence on design with the flashy colors and flower pattern bags. The problem is I don't have any Hoovers of that era in my own collection because I tend to collect the pre 1950 stuff. That's why I could use a few pictures of Hoovers from that time period.

It should also be noted that I find it very important to give credit to sources. You found it, you restored it, you photographed it, you should (and will) get credit.

Also, if any of you decide to post images of forign models please make sure that they have a nearly identical US model that they were based on. It's an US History project so I'd like to stick with US models.

I'd also like the model numbers and years of production if you happen to know that information.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would be happy to snap some Hoover models for you. Email me privately and give me some specifics. Hoover had a lot of great machines in those years and they came in all of the wild colors that you can imagine.

Although Im from over here....

I do have some "Immigrants" lol :)

Firstly these- Convertibles 707 #0022407 and 1010 #0074158. I was sent these stunning cleaners by a guy who IMHO is the best! his friends on here will know who he is and thats what matters. Both are pretty early in the run of these models- the 1010 is late 67 and the 707 is a 71 example. I was lucky enough to complete both ensembles with the matching tool kits from Ebay :) :)

And these....

Are VERY rare....

240V UK market versions of US models :)

The 858 Connie dates to April 70- the hose and carpet/floor tool are US but it has a 2 part UK wand and UK style small tools.

The U4003 is from November of 74. The main differences between this and the US model are the plain headlamp lens, made in USA decal on the hood, and it uses a UK style switch unit.

Very Nice!

Those Hoovers look great!

I find it intersting that the upright attachment sets are like the canister sets, especialy the large metal hose handels. In most cases I find that upright attachment sets are cheaply made compared to canister attachments from the same brand.
