Well guys, after Many years not seeing my brother's beloved Hoover, it has shown up with noise. Of course, corner of fan blade broken off. If I can get a fan, how much will I be wanting to kill him? He LOVES this machine, the Turquoises color and a dear friend gave it to him, dead now. Can I fix it? All fingers and damn stubborn.

I rather enjoyed test driving this machine, even with no headlight! on my heavy plush living room rug, light and powerful, noise level so much better with new fan and the heaver Alergen bag I think? It even sucks up the kitty litter from the sides like my Concept 1. I may have to watch out for one of these to fix up. bro will want this back.

My mom had an early one I think it said 200 on it, light beige/gray. It buzzed and made lots of noise, I did not care for it.Now I am pretty sure she had a broken fan early in its life. Still made it 15 years! My family normally keeps things a long time and the stuff still looks new even then. Habit maybe. I will keep my eyes peeled.

David, just an idea here....perhaps your brother would be happy if you bought him a new upright, something low-priced that he could abuse, such as a Hoover Windtunnel T Series, or a Bissell Powerclean....if he gave you the Elite. After all, if you had to replace the fan in it, sounds like he needs a clean air vacuum. And you would be saving one more Elite from going to an early grave :)
Just a thought... Rob |

Thanks for the thoughts. I have a new T series, like it too! This machine was given to him by a friend, a reverend at the gay church years ago, must have been new. Brothers hubby ran over something cleaning out their old porn store in Reno. Bro was almost in tears, hubby was very upset also. So, I am guessing not a chance. He is very happy, making a special trip a week early to get it.
